COVID-19 Update April 9, 2020:

📊 There are 34 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in British Columbia. This brings the total number of cases to 1370. There are 487 cases in the Fraser Health region.

💵🏠 The application for the Temporary Rental Supplement is now open. Tenants fill out the first part of the application, landlords complete the application. You can apply here: https://bchousing.org/bctrs.

🟥 I am extremely saddened to report that 2 more people have passed away from COVID-19 in BC. This brings the total number of deaths in the province to 50. I extend my sincerest condolences to all the families.

1 more outbreak has ended at a long-term care facility (no new cases over a two-week period).

858 people have now fully recovered in BC from COVID-19.

I know this weekend is not going to be easy. We are making great progress on protecting our communities and health care workers from the worst impacts of COVID-19. We must keep it up. For the well-being of our loved ones and our communities, I urge everyone to stay home this long weekend.
