COVID-19 Update April 28, 2020

COVID-19 Update April 28, 2020:

📊 There are 55 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in BC. There are a total of 2,053 confirmed cases in BC. There are 918 cases in the Fraser Health region.

✅ 1,190 people in BC have fully recovered from COVID-19.

🔴 Sadly, 2 more people have passed away due to COVID-19 in BC. My thoughts are with their communities and families in this incredibly painful time.

🚚 Food trucks are being set up at provincially owned locations throughout B.C. to support commercial truck drivers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with allowing food trucks, the Province has recently completed the installation of more than 25 portable toilets at commercial pullouts and inspection stations in the province to improve travel for commercial truck drivers.

🔬 Scientists at the B.C. Centre for Disease Control are examining 17 different serology testing systems that could be used to determine who has previously been infected with COVID-19.

Today, Dr. Henry again left us with wise words:

“While we look ahead, we must all remember that our vulnerable citizens are still vulnerable….What is important not to lose sight of is that we all have a role to play. The decisions you make today will affect all of us tomorrow”.

Be safe. Be well.
