COVID-19 Update April 29

COVID-19 Update April 29, 2020:

📊 There are 34 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in BC. There are 2,087 total cases in BC. There are 941 cases in the Fraser Health region.

✅ 13 outbreaks have now been declared over (no new cases in a 2-week period).

❗ The Provincial State of Emergency has been extended until May 12, 2020.

🔴 I am very sad to report an additional 4 deaths in BC due to COVID-19. My heart goes out to their communities and families.

✅ Over 15,000 people returning to BC from abroad have been assessed for COVID-19.

✅ 1,305 people have fully recovered from COVID-19 in BC.

As Dr. Henry mentioned, more information on our path forward will be shared next week. The measures we have taken have worked, you have demonstrated the creativity, compassion, and care to get us through the that part of the pandemic. We must continue our efforts.
