COVID-19 Update May 2:

📊 There are 26 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in BC. There are a total of 2,171 cases in BC. There are 992 cases in the Fraser Health region.

💵 The online application for the tax-free one-time $1,000 BC Emergency Workers’ Benefit are now open: https://www.etax.gov.bc.ca/BTP/EBW/_/. Phone applications will open Monday, May 4th.

🔴 Sadly, two more people have passed away in BC due to COVID-19. My condolences and thoughts are with their families and communities.

✅ The BCTF and the BC Public School Employers’ Association (BCPSEA) have ratified a collective agreement. The agreement covers more than 45,000 teachers represented by the BCTF who deliver education to students in the province’s 60 school districts.

Dr. Henry today addressed children and youth in BC; we know many of your are feeling the fatigue and frustration of this situation, and that this is especially challenging for young people. She urged youths to ask for help and reach out if they need it. We will continue to support those who youth need it most and we will get through this. As Dr. Henry says, this is not forever, but it is for now.
