COVID-19 Update June 17

📊 There are 19 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in BC. There are a total of 2,775 cases in BC. Of these, 185 are active cases. There are 1,438 cases in the Fraser Health region.

🔴 There has been an outbreak of COVID-19 at Mission Memorial Hospital. Services for the community are now limited to emergency and urgent care only. Public health teams are working hard to contain further spread, and are closely monitoring the situation.

2,422 people in BC have fully recovered from COVID-19.

The Provincial State of Emergency has been extended until Tuesday, June 23.

As Dr. Henry said, these recent health-care outbreaks clearly demonstrate that COVID-19 remains in our communities. As we re-open, we must remember how quickly COVID-19 can spread. We must continue to practice social distancing, and be very cautious about increasing our social interactions.
