COVID-19 Update April 27:

📊 There are 50 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in BC. There were 39 new cases from Saturday to Sunday, and 11 new cases from Sunday to today. There are a total of 1,998 cases in BC.

💵 The Province is doubling this year’s funding for Family Caregivers of British Columbia to $1 million; Family Caregivers of B.C. is a not-for-profit organization that supports people who are caring for elderly loved ones, family or friends. To learn more about Family Caregivers of B.C., visit: www.familycaregiversbc.ca or call the toll-free caregivers support line Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. (Pacific time): 1 877 520-3267.

🔴 Sadly, 3 more people have died due to COVID-19 in BC. My condolences go to their families, communities, and caregivers in this very difficult time.

✅ 267 projects – led by community not-for-profits, school districts and others – will receive a one-time grant through the Civil Forfeiture Crime Prevention and Remediation grant program.

✅ 1,190 people have fully recovered from COVID-19.

As Dr. Henry mentioned, a Made-in-BC province-wide plan to ease restrictions is currently being developed; it will be done carefully and methodically to avoid a resurgence of COVID-19. Until health officials are certain it is safe to do so, we must continue our efforts at social distancing. Your efforts have made a world of difference so far, and we cannot let up now.

Dr. Henry also again shared some wise advice: Be calm. Be kind. Be safe.

CTV News: BC announces 3 more COVID-19 deaths, 5o new test-positive cases.
