COVID-19 March 21, 2020 Update

COVID-19 Update March 21, 2020:

📊 There are 74 new confirmed cases in BC, bringing the total to 424. There are now 230 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 126 in Fraser Health, 37 in Vancouver Island Health, 27 in Interior Health, and four in Northern Health.

📅 Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry also reminded us said that the number of cases has sharply increased this week as the province works through a backlog of tests. The date new cases are announced does not reflect when those people became sick.

🔴 Sadly, one more person has died in BC due to COVID-19. This brings the total number of deaths in the province to ten.

💯 The Minister of Health Adrian Dix reminded us that keeping 2 metres distance, avoiding leaving the house, not forming large crowds and other measures require 100% compliance if we are to effectively combat this pandemic.

🚫 Spas, salons, tattoo parlours, and massage parlours have all been ordered closed.

To quote Dr. Henry, “This is our chance to alter the course of this epidemic, and we can do it … it’s in our hands right now,”
